How it works
Every launch buys the last one.
BATON is a pump.fun launchpad run as a relay. Each new coin buys the coin launched before it, takes the baton, and waits for the next dev to buy it. Creator fees keep the whole chain buying.
Launching, step by step
- Connect a wallet. Phantom, Solflare or Backpack. On a phone, open batonpad.app in your wallet's browser.
- Your coin goes live on pump.fun with your name, ticker, image and dev buy. That's your first approval.
- Pay the toll and lock the split in one more approval, made only after your coin exists. The toll spends 0.02 SOL buying the coin that held the baton (the tokens go to your wallet), and the split sets how your coin's creator fees are shared, for good. The very first coin on the pad pays no toll.
- Take the baton. The pad reads every transaction back from the chain and lists your coin. The next dev to launch buys yours.
The relay
Every coin is a leg of the relay. Its toll bought the coin before it, and the coin after it buys it. Each coin's pump.fun description names the coin it took the baton from, so anyone can follow the whole chain on-chain.
Where creator fees go
pump.fun pays a creator fee on every trade of your coin. On BATON that fee is split with pump.fun's own fee sharing, and the split is locked when you launch: nobody can change it afterwards, not you and not the pad.
Every 30 minutes the pad's keeper pays out each coin's creator fees, makes the buys, and burns everything it bought, so the pad never holds tokens it could sell. You can watch both wallets on Solscan: relay vault …, buyback vault ….

Questions
Is BATON part of pump.fun?
No. BATON is an independent launchpad. Coins are created through PumpPortal and trade on pump.fun like any other pump.fun coin.
Can the creator-fee split ever change?
No. Setting it revokes its admin on-chain, so nobody can edit it afterwards. The pad only lists a coin after it sees the exact split go through.
What if I cancel the second approval?
Your coin is already live on pump.fun and no toll has been paid. It isn't on the relay until you pay the toll and lock the split. The launch page offers Try again, and remembers the launch in that browser, so after a reload connecting the same wallet shows Finish listing.
Where does the toll go?
It isn't sent to anyone. It's a pump.fun buy of the coin that held the baton when you launched, and the tokens it buys land in your own wallet.
What is $BATONPAD?
The pad's own coin, launched by the BATON team. The buyback share of every coin's creator fees buys it and burns it. It's the one coin without the split: like any pump.fun coin, its creator fees go to the wallet that launched it.
What gets burned?
Everything the keeper buys with creator fees: the earlier coins and $BATONPAD. Burns are ordinary token burns you can see on Solscan.
Is this financial advice?
No. Memecoins are extremely risky and most go to zero. Only spend what you can afford to lose.
